Amidst the congregation of world-renowned industry moguls that met at this year’s iconic.23 conference was none other than Luka Hocevar, owner of Vigor Ground Fitness, who taught attendees about the three Cs of success. What are the three Cs of success? Well, let’s take a look at what Hocevar had to share, below:
To kick things off, Hocevar dives into the first C, Content. When creating or releasing content for your business, Hocevar says there are three different areas of influence that it can affect:
Great content is meant to educate, entertain, and inspire, Hocevar explains. Whether your goal is 100, 1,000, or 10,000 clients, Hocevar says it’s important you get to know who you’re creating content for, and “build your business with a one-client-at-a-time mentality.” How do you decide what kind of content you want to release, though? Well, there’s a few ways you can get started. The three that Hocevar recommends are:
By knowing who your clients and target audience are, you’ll already have a solid foundation to work with. A place you can get started with creating content on, and oftentimes for no extra cost, is social media! You may provide a life-changing service, but if you’re not communicating that effectively to your audience, then what’s the point? Simply by owning a business or by being an industry professional, you ARE in the marketing business, Hocevar says. Moreover, while wanting to provide your services to a client purely out of kindheartedness is a beautiful sentiment, it doesn’t pay your bills.
Saying you don’t care about money is the excuse you make when you aren’t confident enough to charge what you’re worth.” –Luka Hocevar
Luka then dives into something that he’s dubbed the: Tripod Marketing Formula, which is comprised of three different steps:
Building off of that, Luka stresses the importance of getting the right message to the right audience. Again, no matter how great your service or product may be, it won’t be profitable if people:
A. Don’t know that it exists
B. Aren’t interested to begin with
By following the Tripod Marketing Formula, you’re ensuring that neither of those things has the possibility of ever occurring. How do you turn the content that you effectively communicate to your audience, into actual profit? Well, Hocevar covers that in his third & final C of success:
When thinking of words like “conversion,” “sales,” or “commission,” it can be hard not to get a sour taste in your mouth. These kinds of words inspire thoughts of the pesky door-to-door or used-car salesman that society tells you to avoid at all costs. Hocevar takes a different approach, however. According to him, selling is helping.
Be a trusted advisor and help your potential client make a decision, even if it’s a no.” –Luka Hocevar
Simply being a genuine human being alleviates much of the distrust that might otherwise fester in the client/service provider relationship.
